Protect your budget
Export JSON before releases, major edits, and tax-year rollover. Keep a dated copy so you can roll back with confidence.
Budget baseline
At tax-year rollover, export a baseline JSON, save it with the year in the filename, then update the current budget for the new year.
Restore backup
Import a Monitree JSON export if you move device, change browser, or need to restore data.

This clears browser storage and reloads the original starter data from the app folder.

How Monitree works
Monitree v55 keeps the working Supabase data model, uses a cleaner navigation flow, and keeps tax-year handling simple with dated JSON baselines.
1. Check Today
Check income, action checks and the 50/30/20 position before changing the plan.
2. Maintain budget items
Update provider, category, amount, schedule and review status. This is the main working page.
3. Update categories
Use Categories to validate the monthly category budgets before making changes.
4. Keep it current
Use Review to clear stale items and confirm salaries or recurring payments when they change.
5. Save a baseline
Export JSON before releases, large changes or the next tax year. Keep dated copies.
6. Security baseline
Keep public sign-ups disabled, allow only Martin and Ayse, and never expose the Supabase service-role key.
